Andrew Toogood speaking. Following on from last weeks talk on unforgiveness, Andrew continues looking at how we can live in freedom from a life of unforgiveness. Talking about his personal story of how God brought Him and Penny through difficult circumstances, Andrew shows how forgiveness is a choice. The truth is that we will get hurt by people but he problem is that we think that those people our our enemies. Jesus said that even enemies are worse than that but He still told us to love them. How does is that even possible? Pulling from experience Andrew talks about how God helped them to live free even when people were determined to see them fail. You do not need to to live in bitterness. Even if you have been very badly hurt God says that you can live free.
Andrew Toogood speaking. Leading on from last week Andrew looks at the area that EVERYONE has to deal with. How to forgive. Offence is the trap that leads us to a prison called unforgiveness. Learning to forgive is difficult, but absolutely essential if we are to walk in freedom and fullness. But how do we actually get free? Some of us just minimise the hurt and say that it is all okay. Some of think that time is a healer. It is not. Some of us don't know really what to do and the result is self destruction, relational destruction (with God and others) and an impact on our physical health. This is a real issue. Gods love leads us out of this prison of unforgiveness. You can get free, live free and develop a new strategy for not allowing the devil a foothold in your life. Life changing.
Andrew Toogood speaking. Many people are not in church today because at some point on their journey they got offended. In fact it is the universal condition. In a world today that is increasingly rights conscious the opportunity for us to be offended whenever somebody cuts across us is great. In fact Jesus told us to expect that offence would come. How though do we deal with it? The issue is that if we do not deal with our offence then it will lead to isolation, separation & pain. It blocks the love of God in our lives. There is a better way to live and we need to see offence the way that God sees it. This talk will help you to get over those times where offence grips you so that you can live in real freedom.
Andrew Toogood speaking. The way to see and experience more of God's love is not to beg God to pour out more. Jesus has already done it. He expressly says that he wants you to know more. Some of us need to think about what is stopping the flow of God in our lives and this week Andrew looks at the story of the 12 spies sent to scout out the promised land. In the detail we see that they suffered from the same thing that hounds many of us today - pride. You might think that pride is simply being full of yourself and thinking that you are better - that is only one side of it. Overcoming pride will release more of God's incredible love through you.
